The Bubble Boy
Winner of Sainsbury's Children's Book Awards: Fiction for Age 9+ 2016.
'I liked The Bubble Boy because I think the storyline is very good and original. My favorite character is Amir because he is cool and quirky. I think it’s aimed at older readers that like diary-like storylines. I like how Joe, who is the main character, lives in the hospital and gets to do whatever he wants - besides going outside. It’s quite sad that he can’t go outside without dying. I believe Bubble Boy is extremely good and highly recommend it for 10 to 14 year olds. It gets 4 out of 5 stars'- Jacob, 10.
'Poignant, hopeful and heartbreaking' The Bookseller 'A gripping and deeply moving book' -- Jamila Gavin, author of Coram Boy 'Brimming with heart and soul, The Bubble Boy is a life-affirming story of a boy with superhero-sized dreams who longs for a chance to be brave. I cheered and cried and hoped - for Joe, and for the amazing people in his life who care enough to be heroes right alongside him. Simply wonderful.' -- Jenn Bennett, author of Night Owls
