When it Rains: A Memoir (out of print)
When Maggie's husband, father to a five-year-old daughter and an unborn son, kills himself, Maggie is left widowed. Then her beloved mother, backbone of the family, dies suddenly of aggressive cancer. Maggie returns with her children to her mother's family farm, where she finds light and space, and a chance at something new.
Maggie MacKellar was born in 1973. She has published two books on the history of settlement in Australia and Canada. She now lives in central western New South Wales with her two children.
