Guardian of the Bridge
In days of old there lived a taniwha who was the guardian, the kaitiaki, of a very deep lake. This book tells the tale of how he became the guardian of Auckland's Harbour Bridge instead. First published in 1990, GUARDIAN OF THE BRIDGE has been much loved by children ever since. This new edition contains six extra pages of facts, figures and images of the Auckland Harbour Bridge, and a brief history of the area.
Diana Harris is a North Shore writer who has written several books, including Litterbugs, a children's story in verse, and Johnny Jones: a Colonial Saga, a historical biography. Russell Ness is passionate about design and art, and also loves the North Shore, the harbour and gulf. Guardian of the Bridge is the first of two books written by Diana that Russell has illustrated.
