Macaroni Moon and Other Poems
This fun collection of poems is perfect for children from 5 to 12. They're about food and colours and cats and dogs and nursery rhymes and odd folk. Some rhyme, some just have rhythm, some play with words and others are just playful. They're great to read aloud and there's plenty of inspiration here for children to write their own poems. Sarah Laing's inventive illustrations add another layer of fun and meaning to each poem.
Paula Green published The terrible night, her first story for children, in 2007 and she is also the editor of Flamingo Bendalingo, a collection of children's poetry. She is a well known NZ poet for adults and has published four books of poetry for adults. Sarah Laing has worked as a graphic designer in Wellington and New York City. She won the Sunday Star-Times Short Story Competition in 2006 and published her first book of short stories Coming Up Roses in 2007.
